Ilan Ghitman

Ilan Ghitman grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala, before moving to San Diego at the age of 20 to pursue a culinary career. There, he met Scenic co-founder Kevin Fannan through their fraternity. After earning his culinary degree, Ilan worked in several acclaimed San Diego restaurants before becoming Executive Chef at the Shout House, one of the city's premier entertainment venues. There, he led a fast-paced kitchen producing more than 500 dishes each night, ranging from classic French cuisine to Asian fusion.

Although he found success in the culinary world, the demanding schedule of nights and weekends ultimately inspired Ilan to pursue a change in careers. When Kevin and Emily approached him with the vision of launching Scenic Vans, he embraced the opportunity to become a founding business partner and Chief Operating Officer, relocating to Sacramento to help build the company from the ground up.

In Scenic's early days, Ilan wore countless hats - from cleaning rental vans to providing roadside assistance. As Scenic expanded into manufacturing custom campervans, he became instrumental in building and scaling the production side of the business. Today, as Chief Manufacturing Officer, Ilan oversees Scenic's manufacturing operations, working closely with the fabrication and production teams while helping guide the company's long-term direction alongside co-founders Kevin and Emily. Known for his warm personality and approachable nature, Ilan balances genuine compassion with a focused, no-nonsense leadership style that has earned him the respect of the entire Scenic team.

Outside of work, Ilan enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, along with Yeti the dog and Ollie the cat. He is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and serves as an instructor, teaching students of all ages - including a few members of the Scenic team.
