At Scenic Vans, our Build Consultation process is an immersive, hands-on experience designed to guide you through every aspect of the custom van journey.
During your 2–3 hour visit, you'll get a full tour of our shop, including an inside look at vans currently in progress and rentals we have on hand, so you can see different layouts and styles in real time. We walk you through our manufacturing process and get to know you—how you plan to use your van, where you’ll travel, what matters most to you on the road—so we can recommend the right vehicle and layout, not just tick boxes for a fridge or A/C.
Drawing from our deep experience, we’ll explain the pros and cons of different floorplans and features, helping you make truly informed decisions. You’ll leave with a detailed invoice showing the exact cost of your build—no surprises—and we’ll even connect with our trusted dealer partners to lock in the best price on a chassis that fits your goals.

Build Consultations at Scenic Vans are completely free—no strings attached. But if you decide you're ready to move forward, you can lock in your build spot with a $5,000 down payment. This deposit secures your place in our production queue and is the only payment we accept via credit card. We keep the process transparent and low-pressure, so you can explore your options and make informed decisions at your own pace.

Next Step: The Style Meeting
After your Build Consultation, the next step is the Style Meeting—a fun and collaborative session with our design team where we bring your vision to life. We’ll revisit the detailed invoice we created during your consultation, now with the benefit of time for you to reflect and refine your ideas. Together, we’ll finalize the finer details of your build: paint colors, upholstery fabrics, cabinet finishes, appliance colors, and more. Once all style decisions are locked in, we’ll complete the paperwork to officially kick off your custom van build.

Conversion Pricing Estimates
After your Style Meeting, we’re able to finalize the exact cost of your build based on your chosen features and finishes. Most builds fall into the following ranges:
Short Wheelbase: $70,000–$90,000
Long Wheelbase: $75,000–$95,000
Pricing depends entirely on the features and materials selected, and we keep things completely transparent with our line-item pricing system—a detailed, easy-to-understand breakdown so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Thanks to our strong relationships with dealerships and wholesalers nationwide, we can help you source the perfect van shell—new or used—at some of the lowest prices you’ll find anywhere. While you’re welcome to purchase your own van independently, most of our clients find that we’re able to secure a better deal than they could on their own.

Once you’ve selected and secured your van, at least 75% of the total build cost (including the $5,000 deposit) is due when the vehicle is delivered or dropped off at Scenic. The Build Process
Once you drop off your van, the real magic begins—our team of skilled craftsmen gets to work turning your vision into reality. Using top-quality materials and proven techniques, we handle every aspect of your conversion: soundproofing, insulation, wiring, window and floor installation, and custom furniture construction.
Your van is typically completed within 6–10 weeks from the build start date, depending on the complexity of your project. Our build process follows a clear and efficient order:
Exterior Installations
Windows, A/C, fans, roof racks, ladders, solar panels, and more.Interior Rough-In
Insulation, framing, wiring, heater installation, shore power connection, water fill systems, and other foundational components.Living Stage
Floor, ceiling, walls, shower installation, plumbing, full electrical system, and custom-built furniture.Trim & Finish Work
Final touches to cover exposed metal and elevate the aesthetic—this is the beautification stage.Quality Assurance
We triple-check every feature for functionality, conduct a test drive for soundproofing and build integrity, and complete a full walkthrough to ensure your campervan meets our high standards—and exceeds your expectations.
5. Delivery Day

Delivery Day is hands-down our favorite part of the process. After weeks of detailed craftsmanship, your van finally comes to life—and we get to reveal your fully finished home on wheels. The truth is, most of the build time is spent on the “bones”—the structure, wiring, insulation, and hidden systems that make the van functional and reliable. It’s often not until the final week that everything visually comes together.
That’s why, during those final stages, we usually stop sharing progress photos—so the big reveal feels even more special. We often film the handoff and final walkthrough, creating a keepsake video for you to remember the moment you first laid eyes on your dream van. It’s the culmination of your vision, and our craftsmanship—and we’re just as excited as you are to see it all come together.
6. Warranty / Service / Resale

At Scenic, we stand behind our work. Every van we build comes with a 1-year warranty covering the installation of all components, as well as any products we manufacture in-house. Because your van is a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind build, it’s not uncommon for small adjustments to be needed after delivery. If something doesn’t feel quite right—don’t be shy. Let us know, and we’ll make it better. Our goal is for you to absolutely love your van.
The van chassis itself is covered under Mercedes' factory warranty, giving you added peace of mind on the road.

Even after your Scenic warranty ends, you’re never on your own. We offer priority service appointments through our Remodel Division exclusively for past build clients. Whether it’s a repair or upgrade, we’re here to help—and depending on the service, we often offer discounted pricing for returning customers.

Scenic Vans also offers a consignment program. Your Scenic Van can join our rental fleet! We build your van, we store it, we maintain it, you use it when you want, and when you are not using it, we rent the van to other customers and you earn cash and reduce the overall cost of ownership. Its an awesome program!
