Kevin and Emily Fannan
In 2018, Kevin and Emily Fannan took a trip to New Zealand and rented a campervan for their adventure. Having never driven a campervan before they embarked on a journey that would change their lives. Overlanding in New Zealand was an absolute blast and when they returned, they could not wait to get back into a campervan and explore other parts of the world.
For the next few years, Kevin and Emily became obsessed with “vanlife” vlogs and social media profiles. They dreamed of someday owning their very own adventure vehicle and hitting the open road in style. After three years of dreaming, Kevin and Emily purchased a Ram Promaster Campervan they named “Van-Gelica”, sold all of their belongings, and became digital nomads full-time. With Van-Gelica and their two loyal pups Max and Belle, Kevin and Emily travelled all across the United States, visiting 43 states and 30 national parks.
In October 2021 Kevin and Emily found out they were expecting their first child. While they knew fulltime “vanlife” was coming to an end, they wanted to share this amazing experience with others. Many of their friends and family asked how to rent a campervan and Kevin and Emily saw that there was a need in the community for a Vanlife Rental Company. This inspired them to create Scenic Vans
Now Scenic Vans is not only a custom van rental company, but a full fledged van upfitter with an impressive catalogue of designs and models.
Ilan Ghitman
Ilan Ghitman is also a founder of the company and our Chief Operating Officer. Ilan is an accomplished Chef and Entertainment Manager from San Diego and managed one of San Diego’s Premier Restaurant-Entertainment Venues – The Shout! House. Ilan spent over a decade developing menus, managing logistics, and creating services that delight guests. Providing a memorable experience is what Scenic strives for, and Ilan brings significant expertise in entertainment logistics to make Scenic Vanlife Rentals more than a campervan rental company, but an entire entertainment experience built for the customer from the ground up.
Since he was a child, Ilan has always been a handyman and tinkerer. He loves to use his imagination to create new things and custom van making comes natural to him. Ilan manages our building department and creates beautiful custom vans for our private clients, as well as the turn-key builds for our rental fleet. With years of experience building and repairing custom vans, you can be assured that your rental or custom build will be high quality and beautiful.
Ilan currently resides in Auburn with his fiance Erica and dog Yeti.
Hayden Saugar
Meet Hayden Saugar, one of our talented employees at Scenic Vans. Hayden started as a van cleaner but quickly demonstrated a strong work ethic. Through perseverance, Hayden started building vans and today he is our Director of Manufacturing.
Hayden is involved in every aspect of our van builds, from routine maintenance tasks like oil changes to more complex tasks such as installing electrical systems and woodworking. His attention to detail and dedication to quality ensures that every van we build is of the highest standard. When you rent a van from Scenic, you can be confident that it was built with care and expertise by people like Hayden.
When Hayden isn't working on van builds, he indulges in his passion for cars. He loves to buy used cars, fix them up, and resell them. His love for automobiles has translated into exceptional mechanical skills, making him a valuable member of our team.
